"We took 2 beginner lessons here, 2 weeks apart. Lori was tremendously helpful in providing personalized feedback, going out of her way to help us progress, and thinking of skills in different ways to help things like turning click for us better! Lori even took my boyfriend down the beginner run hours after our lesson, which greatly improved his confidence and allowed us both to go from bunny slope to beginner run in just 2 visits! My only request from..."

"Our family was so impressed with Sundown! We were visiting family in Dyersville and made the short trek over on a whim and are so happy we did! It was the BEST way to kick off the new year and one of our favorite memories as a family. We arrived just in time to pay, book a lesson, get our gear and head out! We were on the mountain less than 20 minutes after we arrived and everyone was very..."

"Took my kids here when we came to visit my sister. We had a really great time. If your military make sure to take advantage of the military discount. It's definitely worth asking for. We had our own equipment but three other ppl in our group used their rental equipment. They are really helpful in ensuring that you get the correct equipment to use so that your comfortable. If you are a beginner I suggest you do the beginner area..."

"I would like to preface my review by saying Sundown is fantastic for the Midwest, they’re good at making snow, the terrain park is typically full and often has new features, and the staff is friendly. I’ve probably been to sundown 20+ times and this is my first negative experience and it has NOTHING to do with the skiing or staff. I don’t know what kind of dirty water they’re running through their snowmakers but it has absolutely ravaged my..."

"I'm a new snowboarder converting from skateboarding. I've been there almost every other day for the past 3 weeks and the place is truly amazing. Great runs. A lot of good and helping people. I have the season pass and the price for the benefits to the restaurant and lift pass plus buddy discounts. It's honestly a perfect place for a home base ski resort for those who are starting or are experienced rider. Last but not least there black..."

"Sundown is an excellent small ski area in driving distance from central Illinois. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rentals are done efficiently, and the food at the lodge is tasty. The skiing is what you might expect where most of the snow is manmade, but it makes for an excellent weekend away from the winter blues of the prairie."
